A Little Score!

A score is still a score! A good friend of my awesome neighbor (they are involved with the same Golden Retriever rescue) posted on her Facebook that she had some beef in her freezer from a steer she purchased last year, and asked if anyone could use it. She stated it was grass-fed, USDA organic. My awesome neighbor claimed it for me!

I met up with sweet Jenny this morning to pick it up. She is pretty amazing. My age (32), a breast cancer survivor and a professor at a local college, having her doctorate in geology.

I thanked her profusely, and brought home the goods.

One whole beef heart, halved. Total weight of eight lbs.

4 packages of beef short ribs, each weighing 2.5-3 lbs.

6 containers sliced beef liver, each weighing 12-16 ounces.

It was very nice to meet her, and the woofers enjoyed some short ribs and liver as part of their dinner tonight.
