Hiking with Faolan

Faolan has become a wonderful hiking companion. Neeko is incredibly lazy if the outside temperature is above 70 degrees, but Faolan is a champ in it. Bruce is too bull-headed and strong for me to handle alone.

Yesterday, Faolan and I explored a nearby park that is well known for its trails. It is frequented by mountain bikers, hikers, and horseback riders. We did six (mostly shaded) miles. This park lies adjacent to a river, but it was not easily accessible, so there was no swimming. We still had a great time. I let him explore, not worrying too much about perfect leash walking. As usual, I packed treats and a collapsible bowl and water.

Afterwards, we went by my parent's house, where I convinced my brother to snap a couple pictures of Faolan and I together.

Faolan was exhausted and took a two hour nap when we got home. He had no accidents in the house yesterday, so I am hoping his urinary issues are on the upswing.

  1. I wonder if people would freak and think Faolan was a wolf if you had him off leash. Hope he doesn't have diabetes or anything serious!

Thanks for the howls!!
