Great weather, and we had a nice time on our short hike.
Towards the end, she thought it would be fun to roll in something nasty. I'm convinced it was deer poop.
Doing so earned her a trip to PSP for a bath, which she hasn't had since October.
The Stages of Bath Grief
Despair/sadness. This was just prior to starting the actual bathing process, after convincing her to jump in the tub and then clipping her in. Have you ever seen such a sad face?
Bargaining. Upon realizing a bath was inevitable, she sat down, and sought help from another lady bathing her dog and a PSP employee, by woo-wooing and barking at them in a pleading/demanding way.
Acceptance. Notice the complacent, relaxed face. This is only because she is mostly dry, and we are finished.
I am amused that a dog who loves water as much as Neeko hates baths so much.

We would have to agree with Neeko - B.A.T.H.S. - blech!!! We think she earned a return trip to Starbucks for another pup cup:)
ReplyDeleteWoos - Phantom, Ciara, and Lightning
Hahaha Beamer goes through the same phases as Neeko. I didn't know Starbucks offered Pupcups. That's too cute!
ReplyDeleteOooooh, poor Neeko! I'm sure you worked VERY hard to gets that poo all over you....then your Moms makes you wash it OFF!! Oh, the INJUSTICE!!!
ReplyDeleteI always look the same way Neeko...Only there aren't any other peeps around to seek a rescue....
I agree with the Woos, you deserve another PupCup!!
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
Hehe - Shiner does the same sort of stuff. I haven't heard of a pup cup before. Looks tasty though. Especially if it's from Starbucks.
ReplyDeleteOMG this is so funny. I gave our dogs baths today and I would say that they went through the stages too.
ReplyDeleteLove this!
Hilarious I'm an awful mom though we r so overdue for baths
ReplyDeleteUrban hounds
Funny, Rocco is exactly the same! He LOVES to swim, wade, walk into any puddle he finds....but try to give him a bath and you would think you are torturing the poor animal!
ReplyDeleteLOL i'm trying to desensitize a shelter dog to baths at the moment, and so far it's taken weeks of bringing a hose into her kennel, feeding her as i turn it on and off and getting her to at least embrace the idea that water might be flowing in close proximity to her. Neeko's face at the despair stage is beyond hilarious.
ReplyDeletep.s. i can see you were at that Nicole Wilde's seminar too! too bad we didn't get to talk then; i also feed my dog raw (although i add cooked quinoa/buckwheat and raw fruit/vegetables). i love your blog!
