Recent Raw Meals

After the break are photos of raw meals for large dogs.  My dogs eat a mostly prey model diet, though I do not follow any hard rules of raw feeding.  The following photos are a sampling of my dogs raw meals over the last few weeks.

I feed twice daily, for a total of about 2 pounds per day per dog.  The dogs eat the same meals, with the same portion sizes.

Chicken leg quarters, frozen beef liver.

Turkey hearts.

Ground venison, venison trachea.

Pork roast.

I forgot to thaw meat, so they got some Instinct Raw Boost Mixers as an entire meal.

  1. All of it looks yummy for the dogs. Oz eats ground meat and now whole fish but I have still been tentative about giving him other "parts" like duck wings because of the bones. I wish I could overcome my own cowardice for him.

  2. Do you order all of your meats? I am at the feeding 'rare' stage or Raw Boost Mixers. I will brown their meats before I add it to their pre-mix food.

  3. Yummy, ground tripe!! I need to order some more of that - I accidentally selected a bag of freeze-dried tripe treats instead of frozen raw green tripe on my last raw food order. I've been using them as a topper & food puzzle filler, so no big deal, but I DO need to get more frozen tripe!!
