Freezy Pups Review-Tasty Tuesday

I love making treats for my dogs.  Be they dehydrated organ or baked treats, my dogs always seem to go nuts for something that is homemade.

On a recent visit to Bella Dog Bakery, I picked up a Freezy Pups Kit for $19.95 plus tax.

Honestly, I was probably drawn to the bone shaped ice cube tray more than anything else.  I found it cute, and a clever concept.

The kit contained the ice cube tray, and four packets of organic mixes to mix with water to make the frozen treats.

I do like that they are made in the USA, and all ingredients are simple and organic.
White Cheddar Cheese-Organic Cheddar Cheese, Organic Nonfat Milk, Organic Whey, Salt.
Sweet Potato and Maple-Organic Sweet Potato, Organic Maple Crystals.
Juicy Apple-Organic Apples, Organic Maple Crystals.
Chicken Soup-Organic Chicken Broth, Organic Carrot, Salt.

Honestly, these all sound tasty enough for me to eat.

I decided to make the cheese ones first.

I mixed together hot water and the powder per the instructions.  The powder smelled like any cheese powder one would find in a boxed dinner.  I then filled the tray, and set it in the freezer.

Several hours later, I pulled the tray out.

The ice cubes were easily removed from the tray.

All three of mine were outside enjoying the weather today, so I took them each a Freezy Pup outside.

These treats were quick to melt on my hands.  On the packets, the instructions indicate to place them in a bowl, or on a towel, and this is probably why.  Each of my three dogs loved these treats.  I will make the remaining three packets, and then use the tray to make frozen yogurt and broth type treats for them.  I doubt I will purchase any of the Freezy Pup refills, but the tray is cute, and nice to have on hand.

Disclaimer-I purchased this product of my own accord, and was not asked to review it.  All opinions are strictly my own.

  1. We too have a Freezy Pup tray and packets. We probably won't buy the packet refills either, but have thought of making our own treats. Ours was a gift for the dogs and we love the bone shape tray too!!
