My Dogs Move Me
I got on the treadmill the other night, put my earbuds in and started Pandora (internet radio.) The very first song that came on was "You Move Me" by Garth Brooks, a song I hadn't heard in many years. While directed at a spouse or a lover, the lyrics can be thought of in many ways. My dogs move me.
Their unwavering love gives me hope, gives me courage, makes me strong.
I do not have to validate or minimize my feelings in their presence.
They challenge me, make me think, and push me.
Partially because of them, I am in the best shape I have been in many years.
They truly make me dance and sing, and bring me so much joy.
My heart feels huge, open, and full of love.
They move me.
How do your dogs move you?

I never have to question who I am when I am with my dogs. Mine too challenge me and push me to reach inside of me to chewy up the ugly and let me see the inner beauty of myself and them. I feel spiritually free when we are together and at total utter peace.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this Rebekah. This is beautiful.
Lovely words and yes. Have a wonderful Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes Mollly
Lovely post. I definitely agree! Dogs are pretty amazing in just how much they do for us by just being our companions.
ReplyDeleteWow that was fantastic!!!
ReplyDeleteღ husky hugz ღ frum our pack at Love is being owned by a husky!
How very true!! At Mom's age, we have to do everything we can to keep her moving:)

They look so beautiful walking and running. I pretend I do too.
ReplyDeleteAh, that's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteCammie!
We had similar posts today! One of my favorite things about life with my dogs is how they encourage me to play and be goofy. When Ruby and I play tug, I dance around and growl right along with her.
ReplyDeleteBain reminds me a lot like myself, he's goofy, slightly aloof with strangers and loves to sleep and play hard. It's fun to be goofy with him, and getting on the floor doing my own "play bow" and making him do it. He also continues to show me how to live in the moment.
ReplyDeleteLovely! My dog quite literally moves me. I'd be tempted to just work at my computer for hours on end if she didn't encourage me to get up and play or take her for a walk, or just stroll with her to, oh, say where the treats are stored.
ReplyDeleteWonderful emotions! My dogs move me to express my love for them every single day. They know how to live in the moment and make the most of every moment, and I try to mimic them!
ReplyDeleteVery nicely said...
ReplyDeleteI loved this post, they move me, each an every day.....deb
