Sometimes dogs just want a soft, stinky treat. Actually my dogs want them all the time.
They were given the opportunity to try out some Fish & Sweet Potato Jerky Bark made by Natural Balance, courtesy of our friends at chewy.com.
These salmon-based treats come in a good-sized bag, and are very soft. This means that they are easily broken into smaller pieces, which is a bonus for me.
Warning - they are stinky. I don't see this as a bad thing. The stinkier the treat, the harder my particular dogs will work for it, and the more excited they are to receive it. Your hands will smell fishy, but it comes off with a quick wash.
I love his smile and look of anticipation. |
Faolan gave these treats his ultimate seal of approval. A scent roll.
A stinky, soft treat that my dogs go nuts for - what's not to like?
Mine are suckers for anything fish...ugh. Faolan is so cute!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh - love the roll! We have fishy treats up here for our pups. The stinkier they are the more they are willing to work for them!

Oh! Stinky is GOOD as far as we're concerned! Mom ... not so much.
ReplyDeleteCammie!
I don't get what it is that they love about fish, but I'm for whatever motivates them to do what I want. :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the review, I'm always looking for a treat that is a bit more than usual, this is how I reward them for being on their places while we eat dinner.
Stinky treats are great for training, so I suck it up and put up with it! The crew loves anything fishy. :)

Making beef jerky at home is surprisingly simple and inexpensive, with the added benefit of being able to include your favorite flavors. With nothing more than an oven and a few ingredients you can make delicious beef jerky yourself without any additives or preservatives, just the way you want it. Work on jerky
