I have come across very few chew toys (with the exception of antlers) that can stand up to him.
The nice folks at chewy.com sent us a Jumbo Benebone for him to try out. Challenge accepted.
This thing is huge. |
One thing I really like is that Benebones are made in the USA. All Benebones contain exactly two ingredients - food grade nylon and the food that makes up the flavor. The flavors are peanut butter, chicken, and bacon.
Bruce couldn't wait to get his paws and mouth on it. I did not notice a smell from it, but these are made with "flavor grooves" to hold flavor and entice dogs.
The size and curved shape make it easy for a dog to hold onto it with his paws. I personally love watching my dogs use their paws to hold things and food.
Bruce immediately went to town chewing on this. Switching sides of mouth, changing the angle of attack, repositioning the Benebone.
This was a hit. Bruce chewed, chewed, and chewed some more. He was breathing heavy by the time I traded him a treat for it. I am sure Neeko and Faolan will enjoy it just as much when they have their supervised chew sessions with it. I am pleased. Although Bruce chewed very aggressively on the Benebone, no small parts broke off.
A word of advice. As with all chews, dogs should be supervised while chewing. Select chews that are appropriate for your dog's size and chewing abilities.
I was provided with complimentary product. All opinions are my own.
We have a couple of those here too. They have been big hits with us, and Mom loves that they keep Misty busy chewing away:)

Will have to look into this chew bone. All of our dogs have power jaws too and basically demolish anything we give them in no time flat. And if Bruce can handle it, well then, maybe our pups can too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.
We've had those in the past too, though it's been a while. Luke loved chewing on them!

I introduced my dogs to BeneBones a few months ago and they're a hit in our house. I love that it's food grade nylon, that it doesn't sliver like Nylabone, and the shapes are great for their paws. They're crazy expensive, which is what made me hesitant to buy them in the past, but now I get the price. They're cheap when you consider how much the dogs love them.
