Senior Cats Benefiting From #AvoDermNatural

My cats, or "my girls" as I like to refer to them as, are both considered senior cats.  Senior cats...How did that happen?!?  Juice turned 10 two months ago, and Noelle will be 10 next month.  It just seems weird to say that I have senior pets.

This post is sponsored by AvoDerm® and the BlogPaws Professional Pet Blogger Network. I am being compensated for helping spread the word about Avoderm Grain-Free but My Rotten Dogs only shares information we feel is relevant to our readers. AvoDerm is not responsible for the content of this article.

My original goal during our six week feeding trial was just to see how Juice did on AvoDerm Natural®.  But both girls eat at the same time, from the same dish, so they both were able to enjoy it's deliciousness.

Are you interested in what ingredients go into your pet's food?  I sure am.

I have tried multiple times to switch my girls to a raw diet like my dogs eat, but they won't have much to do with most of it.  Because of this, I focus on feeding them high quality, grain-free kibbles and canned food.

Noelle can be a picky eater, refusing to eat something if it doesn't please her picky palate.  Juice can be a puker, leaving a small pile of cat vomit for me to clean up if something does not sit right on her stomach.  Fortunately, I did not encounter either of these problems with AvoDerm Natural.

"Hey lady!  This food dish will not fill itself!"
Look at that shine on Noelle!!  Her fur has remained silky, soft, and so, so shiny.  I am sure this is due partly to the inclusion of superfood avocados in the food.  On a side note, does anyone else have a difficult time photographing black animals?

Both girls eagerly ate it up, and often purred while doing so.  Against all advice, I didn't transition the girls to this food, but switched them cold-turkey (no pun intended), and they did absolutely fine.  No vomiting, no stinky litterbox problems.

I love that this food is grain free, and made in the USA.  Their Revolving Menu for dogs allows dog owners to vary proteins in order to help avoid dog food allergies.  Purchase AvoDerm HERE.

Ah, Juice.  Juice has always been a bit heavy, while Noelle has always been slim and sleek.  In fact, one of my nicknames for Juice is "chunky butt."  Juice gained no weight while on this food.

"I'll just help myself.  K, thanks."
Juice also has a tendency to be lazy, and sometimes develops a bit of pinkness around her eyes and on her belly.  I have not been able to isolate a particular food or ingredient that causes this.  I went into this food trial confident that AvoDerm Natural would not exacerbate this problem, and could potentially help it.

I was right.  Juice has not had any increased pinkness around her eyes or on her abdomen.  I also believe her energy and activity levels have increased.

I don't keep many things on the mantle, because Noelle frequently jumps up there.  I very rarely see Juice up there, as it is five feet high, and well, Juice is a lazy chunk.  I have been pleasantly surprised to find her up there much more often recently.

I have written about how much I love avocados, and their benefits, and am happy to be able to offer them to my kitties in a highly palatable, nutritious kibble, from a company that is transparent in the formulation and creation of their products.

  5. Oh, I know how hard it is to pick the good food for cat. My Vincent has really sensitive stomach and even expensive food can cause him vomiting. I think I can already do a dissertation writing about the quality of cat food in my local pet store) But I think I can buy some of this food to try. Maybe my cat will like it too?
