Weruva Cat Litter

My cats, like most, are creatures of habit.  In cats, this is a survival instinct.

I decided to take a chance, and change up their cat litter, after years of using the same type.

The ever kind folks at chewy.com sent over some Weruva Hinoki Wood and Green Tea Cat Litter.

The first thing I noticed upon opening the bag is the smell.  It smells amazing.  A nice woody smell is the best way I know to describe it.  As the name indicates, it is made from hinoki wood (a member of the cypress family) and green tea.  It is made from sustainable materials, low dust, and clumping.

I have two cats, and two litter boxes, which I scoop daily.  Some sources suggest I have three boxes, with a formula of [ 1 per cat, + 1 ].

I went ahead and completely emptied both boxes, filling one with their normal litter, and the other with Weruva.

The litter is in pellets.  They don't easily break, and there truly was minimal dust.  Did I mention it smells very pleasant?

It took the girls a couple of days to begin regularly using the box with the Weruva.  The packaging includes instructions on transitioning a cat to the new litter, which I did not follow.  They state one bag will last one cat one month.

Juice thought it smelled good too.

Overall, I am quite pleased with this litter.  It is more "natural", sustainably sourced, smells good, clumps well, and has little dust.  My only issue (if you can even call it that) is that my litter scoop slots were too small to allow the clean pellets to easily pass through when scooping, so much shaking was required.
