July 2014 BarkBox Review

We received our July BarkBox today!  Reviews of previous and/or the most recent BarkBox can be read HERE.

The Goods

Healthy Dogma Coconut Flavor Barkers.  Approximate retail value $13.29.  Gluten and grain-free biscuit treats.  I think these sound tasty, and the ingredients are fairly limited and decent.  But...Bruce is allergic to coconut, and Faolan doesn't like most biscuit type treats.  These will be donated or gifted, though I am sure most dogs, including Neeko, would love them.

Mrs. Barksmith's Pina Colada Smoothie.  Approximate retail value $1.27.  These are a cute concept, and fun to give to my dogs.  We have received a couple of these is different flavors in past BarkBoxes, most recently in our April BarkBox.  Pop in the freezer, give to pup, watch pup enjoy.

Loopies Floppy Fish Bone toy.  Unknown value.  We have received another toy from this company in the past, also in our April BarkBox.  Cute toy.  Made in China...Boo.  It has at least one squeaky in it, and feels relatively tough.  I am still on the fence about whether or not I will offer this to my dogs.

Etta Says 12" Duck Chew.  Approximate retail value $1.99.  We have received many products from Etta Says in the past, and they all go over very well, no matter what the flavor.  The hard part is deciding which dog gets to enjoy this.

Bixbi Daily Essentials.  Guesstimated retail value for the size bag we got-$9.99.  Chicken breast jerky treats that are made AND sourced in the US.  Yay!  These also contain blueberries, cranberries, and reishi mushrooms.  This is easily my favorite thing in this month's box, and I know these treats will be a huge success with my dogs, even picky turd Faolan.  Jerky treats are always well-received here, and it is very nice to have some that I am comfortable offering to my dogs.

To me, this month's BarkBox was just okay.  I am disappointed about the toy being made in China.  The Healthy Dogma treats look great, but one of my dogs cannot eat them, and another probably won't eat them.  The smoothie is fun, and the duck chew is appreciated.  As mentioned, the jerky treats are easily the best item in the box for my household.

  2. Almost looked like a blue theme. I'd be wary of things from China, too.

  4. I liked the Bixbi and the reason behind this it contains reishi mushroom powder which is good for immune system.
