September 2013 BarkBox Review

Here is the September BarkBox review, which we received today!  Reviews of the current and/or previous months can be read HERE.

The Goods

Jax & Bones Good Karma Ted the Turtle Rope Dog Toy.  Approximate retail value of $12.60.  We received a toy from this same company in our January BarkBox, and I was pleased with it.  It is a cute, hand-tied toy made from natural cotton, and free from chemical dyes.  This toy is almost too cute to give to the woofers, but I am sure I will submit and do so.
Loving Pets It's Purely Natural Chicken and Brown Rice Biscotti with Sweet Potato Chunks.
Approximate retail value of $8.39.  While salt as an ingredient is concerning, overall these have decent ingredients, and are yeast-free.  They are also made in the USA.  Crunchy treats that look like actual biscotti, and smell good as well.  I broke one into three pieces, and all three dogs enjoyed theirs.  Even picky turd Faolan ate his without spitting it out and investigating it more or scent rolling on it.

Etta Says! Crunchy Deer Chew. Approximate retail value of $0.99.  We received a duck chew by the same company in our April BarkBox.  This one is venison based, and I am sure will be greatly enjoyed.  I expected the initial one we received to be like a bully stick, and be a slightly time-consuming chew, but that was not the case.  It was more like a big treat, and eaten pretty quickly by Neeko.  It was very much enjoyed by her, however, and I am tickled to have received another one, particularly deer, since anything venison is a huge hit here.

VetraCare Pet Liquid Bandage Spray for Dogs and Cats.  Approximate retail value $7.99.  Alcohol-free liquid bandage that offers protection while allowing a scrape or wound to breathe.  I am excited to receive this, and feel it is an invaluable addition to our doggy first aid kit.  Very nice.

Wagatha's Tuscan Pizza Biscuits.  Approximate retail value $8.99.  A nice company, and this treat is wheat, corn, and soy free, along with being yeast free.  This is not something I would probably purchase, but am happy to have received it.  They smell good, like Italian food.  This is probably due to the addition of oregano, thyme, and basil.  I have yet to offer these to the crew, but I am sure at least Bruce will enjoy them.

Once again, I am very pleased with this month's BarkBox.  A nice variety consisting of a toy, a health item, and various treats.  To save $5 on a BarkBox of your own, click HERE.

  1. Thanks for the review. I got the medium box and did a review on my site too. Looks like there are some overlaps in the boxes after all!

  2. Our Golden destroyed the rope toy within a few hours. It was just not as tough as they indicate. The other goods were nice. I don't think the box was worth the $29.95 subscription price though.
