December 2013 BarkBox Review and $10 off coupon link.

We received our December BarkBoxes today!  Reviews of the current and/or previous months can be read HERE.

That is right, I said "BarkBoxes" as in plural.  We received TWO BarkBoxes today, and they are different.  Perhaps it was an error, or perhaps it is in the giving spirit of the Holidays.  Either way, I am not complaining.

Box One

Barkworthies Junior Bully Dog Chew, 12-Inch Approximate retail value of $7 (guessing).  Bully sticks are ALWAYS a huge hit here.  This is most definitely appreciated.

Plato Eos Turkey with Cranberry Dog Treats Approximate retail value of $6 (for 4 oz bag, I am guessing).  Mostly turkey, grain-free dog treats that are made in the USA.  What's not to like.  Very simple ingredients that I am comfortable and happy with offering to my dogs.  These treats are soft-ish, and easily broken.  All three of mine readily ate a piece when offered.

Bruce trying to be patient for his Plato Turkey treat.

Superior Farms Pet Provisions Lamb Toasters Approximate retail value $8.99.  We have received products from this company in the past, and I am very happy with them.  We received this particular product in our May Spoiled Rotten Box, and it was a huge hit.  Dog treats don't come more natural than this.  One ingredient-dehydrated lamb lung.  My dogs LOVE them.

Jax and Bones Good Karma Rope Dog Toy Approximate retail value 14.99.  Pepper the Penguin is surprisingly heavy and ridiculously cute.  SO.  STINKIN. CUTE.  Almost too cute to let my dogs chew on.  We received an almost equally cute rope toy by the same company in our September BarkBox.  I am having serious doubts about giving this to the dogs because of its cuteness factor.  I want to keep it for myself!!

Wet Noses Peanut Butter biscuit.  Unknown value.  Very nice ingredients in a large, Organic, biscuit treat.  It is wheat, corn, soy, and yeast free.  We received some cookies from this company in our February BarkBox, and they were a success.  Bruce loves big biscuit/cookie type treats, and I will enjoy giving this one to him.

I am totally happy with the contents of Box One alone.  So it super exciting that I have a complete second box to review as well!!

Box Two

Once again, we start with a Barkworthies Bully Stick.  See above.  I am never going to complain about receiving Bully Sticks.

LICKS Liquid Vitamins Zen Treat for Dogs Unknown value.  We received two of these sample packs.  They contain Chamomile, Tryptophan, Theanine, Eleuthero Root, and Ashwagandha Root as their active ingredients.  I have never heard of the last two, so this gives me something to research.  Simple inactive ingredients as well.  These are indicated for stress and anxiety, which my boys both experience on occasion.  It is a liquid that is meant to be poured over food, and is promoted as having 98 percent absorption, vs 20 percent for pills.  We received some Joint & Heart packs from them in our April BarkBox, which I gave to Neeko, and she consumed with no problem.  I will probably offer these to the boys when the need arises.

Hare of the Dog Rabbit with Red Apple and Dandelion Dog Cookies Approximate retail value $6.49.  I had not heard of this company, but am pleased and impressed.  USA made and sourced biscuit type treats with rabbit as the primary ingredient.  The other ingredients are all nice, as well.  I am always excited to discover new products, so this is awesome, to me.  I offered each of my three one, curious as to how it would go.  Neeko and Bruce notoriously dislike raw rabbit, while Faolan is a consummate treat snob.  They all gobbled these up, with absolutely zero hesitation!
Slightly scary photo of Faolan waiting on his Hare of the Dog cookie.

PetSafe Busy Buddy Chuckle Dog Toy Approximate retail value $8.44.  A relatively hard rubber chew toy, that makes an interesting knocking sound when it is shaken.  Treats can be put in either end, for an interactive toy.  Dishwasher safe-yay!!  Made in China-boo!!  This is probably something I will let my dogs play with one at a time, under supervision.

Planet Dog Eats: Chicken and Pumpkin Pot Pie Biscuits Approximate retail value $4 (guess).  Biscuit-type treats with simple ingredients (barley, rye, chicken, pumpkin, oil, and ginger), and are wheat, corn, soy, and yeast-free!!  I like this company, and am pleased to have received these treats, as my dogs have not had them.  As with the rabbit treats, I was worried about how they would go over, but they went over very well, even with picky Faolan.

Again, I am very pleased with just Box Two, and would have been happy with it as a solo BarkBox.

I am ecstatic to have received all these new goodies for my pups, and really impressed with BarkBox.  To try BarkBox for yourself, and receive $10 off a month, click HERE.

  5. The first box looks MUCH better. I hope I don't get the second one, or I'll be super disappointed.
